He'd wanted to foster for a long time, but a previous agency had left him thinking it wasn't possible without a spare room, and he wondered whether being a single applicant would count against him, or whether HOME sounded "too good to be true." £0.75 million in government backing HOME has been awarded £0.75 million from the Department for Education, in recognition of our innovative model for helping more people become foster carers. It's already let us double the size of our team, strengthen therapeutic support for carers, boost our recruitment offer, and formalise a partnership with Now Foster, so every HOME carer now has a dedicated Weekenders carer linked in, providing regular short breaks for them and the children in their care....

Our first cohort has completed training Cathy (Registered Manager) and Kayleigh (Fostering Social Worker) have just wrapped up our first Skills to Foster preparation course. It couldn't have gone better: applicants spent the sessions chatting, sharing experiences and debating, and a real sense of community has already formed between them.
