Our team.

HOME was founded by Allan Madeley, the culmination of nearly 20 years working in Children’s Social Care for Local Authorities and providers across the UK, including a spell as a Director at a leading Independent Fostering Group. Alongside this Allan led the award-winning ‘Room Makers’ project in Greater Manchester. This similar property-led concept explored working with experienced foster carers to create additional bedrooms for children within their existing homes.

Cathy Sowden joined in Summer 2025 as the Registered Manager for HOME. She has been a qualified social worker for over 30 years, working in fostering and adoption for more than 25 years of that time. Her commitment to achieving the very best for children and young people, her passion for making a difference and her wealth of experience in the sector ensures that the service is well placed ahead of launch.

Last but by no means least, Tiffany Slack is a care-experienced social worker with over 15 years of expertise in strategic child safeguarding and operational fostering. She brings a strong background in business management and support, with a passion for improving outcomes for children in care and guiding foster carers throughout their journey.

Scott Darraugh, is CEO of Social adVentures, the organisation that has made HOME possible. Scott is a leading social entrepreneur and influential voice in the social change and social business sector. In addition to his professional experience Scott is also committed to change personally, through his lived experience of being a foster carer in Greater Manchester.
